12 Hours of Gears at New Fane Trails

Team Vesrahs First Outing A New Fane Success.

The 12 Hour start is a LeMans start, which means the riders have a short run to their bikes before they start pedaling in hopes to break up that first turn calamity. All calamities averted as Team Vesrah was about fifteenth going into turn one. At the end of lap one Ken Melville Team Vesrahs resident starter had Team Vesrah in third place following first and second closely. Ken put his head down and handed the overall lead at the end of lap two to Mark McCrimmon who proceeded to gap the field. Mark laid down the overall fastest lap time in the race on lap three his first lap out. Mark McCrimmon handed a still uncomfortable lead to Mark Junge who put down two fast laps pulling additional seconds on our closest competition, Speedgear Bike. Even more remarkable Mark Junge did this on a singlespeed bike. Mark Junge handed the race to Mike Laney who was able to hold off Speedgear Bike. Team Vesrah at no time in the race gave up the overall lead. At the 6 hour mark or midpoint of the race Team Vesrah had approximately 8 minutes on second place. Team Vesrah knowing any miscue or mechanical mishap could cost the race, went back to work. With plenty of strategy and some very fast laps late in the race Team Vesrah started to hold a commanding lead. At the end of the 12 Hours Team Vesrah was 1 Lap up on second place and three laps up on third place. Team Vesrah Brakes first outing was a complete success. Team Vesrah would Like to thank Mark Junge Vesrah Suzuki, Hayes Disc Brakes, Racine Cyclery, Sun Ringle, and Kenda.
